This year, we’re holding “Barog, Bukidnon! Year 2 – Battle of the Bands and Leadership Pledge" on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2007, Saturday, 4 PM until the wee hours of the next morning.Since we want to target the youth, yuppies and young adults, we thought of conducting a band contest and a repeat of the signature campaign – this time an announcement of a leadership pledge that encourages each and every one to do his or her share to be more responsible citizens. We're also conducting this type of event because we want to urge the youngsters to take a more active role in the fight against AIDS.
Our event will also serve another worthwhile purpose – proceeds will go to the Bukidnon State University Educators Troop - Girl Scouts Cadets. In the past few months, this cadet troop has been a recipient of local, regional and national environment-related awards. The money raised will be used to fund their ongoing projects. Hopefully, through the synergy of the fight against HIV/AIDS, environment awareness as well as population advocacy and management, we are doing our share in taking the lead.
