For the Prevention Campaign 2011, the association Alfaomega organized an unusual parade with 7 human condoms, walking in the centre of Mantova and spreading the message of prevention promoted in the world too. As in the previous initiatives, even this year the Alfaomega event is part of the World Campaign , organized by the International Association World Aids Campaign which this year recommends the slogan “Getting to Zero”: zero new infections, zero discriminations, and zero deaths linked to AIDS within the 2015.
Prevention should be reminded every day, as a moment of encounter, of respect for ourselves and our partner, because making a simple act is possible to protect the health people we love.In Italy from the beginning of the epidemic disease in the 1982 up to December 2010 it has been reported more than 63.000 cases of aids, of which 40.000 people died.In Mantova territory the epidemic disease killed 250 people and nowadays it hits about 35 new people every year.If people had adopted a risky behavior, we want to remind that it is possible to make a free and anonymous test inside public structure like “Unità Operative Aids”, “Asl”and “Reparti di Malattie Infettive”.

Alfaomega since 1991 has acted “ AIDS LINE ALFAOMEGA – Phone Counselling: it is an helping phone line which gives answers to questions concerning this disease and it promotes a major responsibility in sexual relations. Phone number: +39 0376 49951. Nowadays this service is included in the Italian Net of Services about phone Counselling coordinated by The Superior Health Institute.
