Le thème de la Journée mondiale de lutte contre le sida sera celui de la responsabilité, prôné toute l’année durant par World AIDS Campaign, qui en assurera la promotion, le 1er décembre, sous le slogan STOP SIDA. Tenez la promesse.
Ce thème de la responsabilité reflète à la fois l’initiative continue de l’équipe World AIDS Campaign au soutien de la Journée mondiale contre le sida et le bilan de la rencontre HIV and AIDS Campaigning and Advocacy, tenue à Londres en février 2005. Ayant tiré les leçons des années précédentes, la campagne a résolu de s’investir davantage, plus tôt dans l’année, pour assurer le succès de la Journée mondiale 2006 contre le sida. L’aspect le plus significatif de cette prochaine journée d’action mondiale tient à la mesure dans laquelle elle repose, cette année, sur l’apport de nombreux et divers partenaires de la société civile.
Background on the Theme
After two decades of AIDS, we know that with sufficient will and resources we can turn this epidemic around. In June 2001 Heads of State and government representatives gathered for the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS). This was the first time a meeting such as this one recognized that AIDS was a global crisis requiring global action.

World AIDS Day 2006: CDROM
World AIDS Day is a day when people from around the world come together within a single effort. The global theme for World AIDS Day 2006 is accountability – and the slogan is, Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise. Groups and organisations around the world will use this theme and slogan to guide their work. However, the best campaigns are locally developed. So we encourage you to make creative use of the global theme and slogan, and to develop local campaigning messages. This CDROM contains resources to help you do that.
