Presenting the Mexico City Youth Partnerships Initiative!

Throughout the upcoming 2008 International AIDS Conference, the World AIDS Campaign and the Mexico Youth Force, will implement the Mexico City Youth Partnership Initiative (YPI). The YPI will pair youth leaders with established leaders of a wide-range of constituencies, in order for youth to develop practical leadership skills experientially, as well as for the constituencies to learn from youth leaders and develop partnerships with youth as a constituency. Through the two-way learning process, the YPI will promote mutual understanding, facilitate networking, and enable a transfer of knowledge and skills between participants.

Youth-Adult Commitments Desk - Time to keep your promise

At AIDS 2006, Toronto YouthForce (TYF) and the AIDS 2006 Youth Programme hosted a Youth-Adult
Commitments Desk in front of the Youth Pavilion in the Global Village, as part of a new initiative to give delegates of the XVI Toronto International AIDS Conference to make concrete commitments to young people and youth AIDS issues.

Over the past year, GYCA staff, Regional Focal Points and members followed up on the 344 commitments made at the Youth-Adult Commitments Desk. Below you will find a report that details the challenges and successes in holding adults accountable for their commitments to youth and youth AIDS issues, as well as containing recommendations to improve the process in years to come.
