Hastings College PHIVE-O (Peer HIV Education Organization) will host a special World AIDS Day chapel service Wednesday, December 3 at 10 AM in the college chapel. The speaker will be Alex Peterson, a recent Peace Corps worker who worked with HIV/AIDS issues in Kenya. Jon Sokasits will perform special piano music.
At noon on the same day, in Hazelrigg Student Union, our friend Galen, who is living with HIV/AIDS, will speak to the student body.
At 7 PM on Thursday, December 4, PHIVE-O will sponsor a candlelight vigil in the college chapel for World AIDS Day. We will honor those persons from central Nebraska who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS with red luminaria outisde the chapel, and the vigil will have special readings and music, as well as an open mic. The public is invited to all these events.
