Opportunities & Challenges for National Civil Society Campaigning
In 2007 World AIDS Campaigns held national campaigner's meetings in Nigeria, Zambia and Kenya, as well as subregional meetings in southern, eastern and western Africa to begin to uncover the challenges and opportunities for civil society campaigning for political accountability. From these meetings, reports were prepared that highlighted opportunities and challenges that arose prior to, and as an outcome of the meetings. Red Ribbon Ball in Zambia
On 20 March, The Red Ribbon Charity Ball will be held in Lusaka. At the event, leadership awards will be presented honouring outstanding individuals and organisations working to end HIV and AIDS. National Campaigners meet in Kenya, Zambia and Nigeria
World AIDS Campaign in collaboration with it’s partners in Kenya, Zambia and Nigeria held National Campaigners Meeting in the various countries between February and March 2009. The meetings brought together civil society organisations around the theme of ‘Keep the Promise of Universal Access’, with the aim of exploring how civil society will continue the campaign to hold their leaders accountable for commitments to ensure universal access to prevention, treatment, care and support is achieved by 2010.
African CS Coalition: Strengthening and Supporting the CS response to AIDS
The African Civil Society Coalition on HIV and AIDS has been working to strengthen and support the civil society response to AIDS across the continent.

The “15% Now!” campaign of the Africa Public Health Rights Alliance is an initiative of the Centre for Research, Education and Development of Rights in Africa (CREDO-Africa) in collaboration with its partners.
“Right to Health Most Important Right of All” says Africa Public Health Rights Alliance
On the occasion of Human Rights Day 2006, the African Public Health Rights Alliance launches the “15% Now!” Campaign and opens for signature the global petition calling on African leaders to without further delay implement their 2001 Abuja AU Summit pledge to commit 15% of annual national budgets to health in order to end the tragic loss of an estimated 8 million lives annually to preventable, treatable and manageable diseases, illnesses and maladies.
