The World AIDS Campaign is committed to strengthening, catalysing and facilitating stronger and more youth connected movement to address universal access targets as well as other key HIV and AIDS related commitments. In collaboration with youth partners, World AIDS Campaign has developed resources to help youth campaigning efforts towards universal access.

World AIDS Campaign conducted a thorough evaluation of the 2008 Youth Programme and its activities. The evaluation is available now!

The evaluation discusses the lessons learned of the 2008 programme, and has a focus on the Youth Consultation held in Amsterdam, the activities around the International AIDS Conference in Mexico, and our campaign for World AIDS Day in India.

United Nations High level Meeting on HIV/AIDS 2008 - more than a seat at the table

Young people have an important role to play and significant contributions to make in addressing all aspects of HIV and AIDS. The 2008 United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV and AIDS was one in a series of opportunities for young people to interact with global government and civil society to ensure that the United Nations (UN) member states are held accountable for progress made toward the goal of universal access by 2010. Youth Campaigning Consultation

On 30 and 31 January 2008, representatives of a variety of constituencies, including youth, HIV and AIDS, women, labour, parliamentarians and faith, gathered in Amsterdam for a Youth Campaigning Consultation. The consultation was organised by the World AIDS Campaign, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Youth 2008 Annual Report

The year 2008 was a pioneer one for the World AIDS Campaign (WAC). Marking an exciting development in the WAC’s organisational history, in January 2008 the first constituency-based position was launched. The report gives an overview of the activities that have been carried out with the youth constituency, such as the youth consultation, UNGASS and International AIDS Conference in Mexico. The report also gives an overview of the factsheets and materials that were produced by youth.
